For 2025-2026 Angelina’s Song Scholarship recipient NaTasha Rogers, music has never been simply something she studies or performs—it has been a lifelong language of creativity, healing, and connection.
As a musician, creator, and advocate, NaTasha has spent her life exploring the power of music to inspire, heal, and connect people. Today, she is continuing her educational journey while preparing to make a lasting impact on the future of music, accessibility, and music therapy with support from the Angelina's Song Scholarship Program.
Angelina's Song was founded on the belief that music can transform lives. Through scholarships, grants, and programs that expand access to music therapy, the organization invests in students who share that vision, like NaTasha.
A Lifelong Connection to Music
Music has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. A naturally gifted musician, NaTasha began exploring music at a young age and quickly developed a remarkable ability to learn and create through listening, intuition, and memory.
Long before she had access to digital recording software, NaTasha was creating original music as a child. By age twelve, she was producing her own songs by overdubbing and splicing cassette tapes on dual-cassette boomboxes. That determination to create, innovate, and express herself would become a defining characteristic throughout her life.
Over the years, her musical journey expanded to include piano, trumpet, voice, keyboards, music production, harp, and talk box performance. Whether performing, composing, producing, or improvising, music became the language through which she expressed herself and connected with others. One of the most unique aspects of NaTasha's musical experience is the way she processes music beyond sound alone.

Music as Vibration, Color, and Connection
As she listens to and creates music, NaTasha often experiences colors, textures, movement, and visual stories in her mind. Those experiences have shaped her understanding of both music and humanity.
“Music is me,” she explains. “At its core, music is vibration, and I believe we are all vibration expressed through human form.”
Since around age three, NaTasha has been able to hear pitches, rhythms, and melodies and reproduce them by ear. While many musicians rely heavily on written notation, her musical gifts developed through listening, memory, and deep intuitive understanding. Those gifts have helped her flourish as a musician while also informing her approach to healing, communication, and human connection.
For NaTasha, music is not simply entertainment. It is a powerful tool that can help people process emotions, build relationships, and find hope during difficult moments—a philosophy that aligns closely with the mission of Angelina's Song.
Finding Strength Through Music
Throughout her life, music has also served as a source of resilience. Like many artists, NaTasha faced challenges on her journey, including bullying at various stages of her musical education and performances. As an adult, she also received a formal vision-related diagnosis that helped explain why visually demanding tasks, such as reading music for extended periods, often required significantly more energy and concentration than they appeared to require for others.

Rather than allowing those challenges to limit her, NaTasha used them to fuel her advocacy. Today, she speaks passionately about the need for greater accessibility and inclusion in music education and the broader music profession. As a visually impaired musician, she understands firsthand that talent and musicianship can be demonstrated in many different ways.
“Music continues to be one of the ways I process life, restore balance, and maintain wellness,” she says. “I create the music that I need to hear.”
Her experiences have deepened her understanding of how differently people learn, process information, and express their talents. They have also inspired her to become an advocate for greater accessibility and inclusion throughout music education and professional practice.
Discovering the Power of Music Therapy
NaTasha's path toward music therapy developed gradually. In 2017, she visited Texas Woman's University and attended a music therapy lecture that sparked her curiosity about the profession. As she continued exploring the field, she gained a deeper understanding of the science, clinical practice, and patient-centered care that define music therapy.
What began as an interest in creating music that helped people feel better evolved into a profound appreciation for the role music therapists play in improving quality of life. Through her studies, she developed an even greater respect for the role music therapists play in improving quality of life and supporting individuals through a variety of challenges.
As a recipient of the Angelina’s Song Scholarship, NaTasha views her educational journey as part of a larger mission: helping others while creating opportunities for greater understanding and accessibility. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Music Business.

Advocating for Accessibility and Inclusion
Her goal is to combine creativity, leadership, innovation, and advocacy to make a lasting impact in the music industry, one that extends beyond personal achievement. She strives to help create more equitable learning environments and opportunities for visually impaired musicians and others whose strengths may not fit traditional expectations.
NaTasha hopes to contribute to conversations that encourage greater accessibility, inclusion, and recognition of diverse ways musicians learn, perform, create, and demonstrate excellence. She sees a future in which music therapy embraces a broader understanding of the relationship between musicianship and accessibility.
“I hope future music therapists are empowered to demonstrate their knowledge and clinical potential through accessible pathways that honor both inclusion and excellence,” she says.
Looking Toward the Future
As she prepares for the next chapter of her educational journey, she remains committed to using her gifts to uplift, inspire, and connect people through music.
Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, NaTasha enjoys spending time in nature, fostering kittens and cats, photography, content creation, reading, and lifelong learning. Curiosity continues to fuel both her creativity and her desire to serve others.
Yet no matter where life takes her, music remains at the center. Whether performing on stage, producing recordings, composing original works, or advocating for a more inclusive future, NaTasha continues to use her gifts to help others. Her story is a powerful reminder that music is more than sound—it is connection, healing, expression, and possibility.
Through her talent, perseverance, and commitment to accessibility, NaTasha Rogers is helping ensure that future generations of musicians can thrive as their authentic selves. And for Angelina's Song, supporting students like NaTasha is exactly what the scholarship program is all about— investing in future leaders who will use the power of music to make the world a little brighter, one person at a time.
