Angelina's Song Announces Our 2026-2027 Grant Recipients

A Record-Breaking Year of Impact

Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the comfort, connection, and joy that music can provide—especially during life's most difficult moments. At Angelina's Song, our mission is to make the healing power of music more accessible by supporting pediatric music therapy programs and the professionals who make them possible.

We are excited to announce our 2026–2027 grant recipients!

This year was our most competitive grant cycle to date, with organizations from across the country submitting requests to help share the power of music. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Angelina's Song is proud to award a total of $63,624 to 13 hospitals and organizations that are expanding access to music therapy and music-based healing for children and families.

Each grant was awarded with one goal in mind: helping more children experience the life-changing impact of music.

Supporting Innovation in Music Therapy

At Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, Colorado, funding will help purchase a mobile recording studio, allowing patients to write and record their own music while receiving care. These creative experiences can foster self-expression, confidence, and lasting memories during hospitalization.

Children's National in Washington, D.C. will use its grant to launch a Heartbeat Bear Partnership. Heartbeat Bears capture the sound of a loved one's heartbeat inside a soft, comforting stuffed animal, creating meaningful keepsakes that provide comfort and connection for families.

At Covenant Children's Music Therapy in Lubbock, Texas, funding will support both its NICU Egg Program and new recording studio equipment. These resources will expand opportunities for infants and families to benefit from music while also giving older patients additional creative outlets through recording experiences.

Equipping Music Therapists to Reach More Families

Friends of Kids with Cancer in St. Louis, Missouri will use their grant to purchase new musical instruments and equipment, giving music therapists fresh tools to engage young patients through individualized therapy sessions.

Hassenfeld Children's Hospital in New York City also plans to use their grant to purchase new musical instruments, along with Heartbeat Bears for pediatric patients undergoing hospital procedures.

Closer to our office, the Lycoming County Children's Development Center in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, will provide weekly music therapy sessions led by Angelina's Song scholarship recipient Sarah Decker. This partnership reflects our commitment not only to supporting music therapy programs, but also to investing in the next generation of music therapists.

At MU Healthcare in Columbia, Missouri, funding will provide equipment for Heartbeat Bears, giving families meaningful keepsakes that preserve precious moments and strengthen emotional connections during difficult medical journeys.

The MUSC Arts in Healing program in Charleston, South Carolina, will expand music therapy services to reach even more patients within Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital, ensuring that additional children and families can experience the emotional and therapeutic benefits of music.

Creating Joy Through Music

At Nemours Children's Hospital Orlando, new music therapy equipment will enhance sessions with patients, while Stony Brook Children's Hospital in New York will create a fully equipped mobile music cart, making instruments and music experiences more accessible throughout the hospital.

Sunrise Day Camps of the G, will provide music therapy for children with cancer and their siblings during summer camp. By incorporating music into a setting designed to give children a sense of normalcy, campers will have opportunities to express themselves, build friendships, and create joyful memories together.

At UC Davis Children's Hospital in Sacramento, California, funding will provide new instruments and equipment to strengthen music therapy services and expand opportunities for meaningful patient engagement.

Finally, WVU Medicine Children's Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, will use its grant to provide music therapy services for pediatric oncology patients, offering comfort, emotional support, and moments of hope throughout treatment.

While each organization's needs are unique, they all share a common purpose: improving the lives of children and families through the power of music. Whether it's introducing new equipment, expanding therapy services, supporting neonatal care, or creating meaningful keepsakes, these grants will help bring healing, comfort, creativity, and connection to countless children across the country.
